Game Update 20/07/25

This update features name changing, a new rare item tier, new Summer mystery box loot, Bounty hunter changes and lots of new toggles. Plus the usual misc fixes and improvements!

Chambers of Xeric is progressing nicely. Soon, we will be able to open up beta testing before it gets released. It is hard to put an exact ETA on this, so the only thing I can say at this point is please be patient! 

Branding Changes

I am pleased to announce that no longer are we using a 1:1 copy of a certain old server's logo with a new name slapped on it...
Olena, our graphics designer, has created this slick new logo based off some design ideas which I gave her.
This new logo will replace all instances of the old logo. We are also in the process of designing new advert banners for voting toplists.
A new client background has also been created, which will be updated again with CoX releases!

Display Name Changing

Players are now able to change their display names by using a Name change scroll. 

This scroll will be obtained via the new OSGP token shop, as well as the gems shop.

Original login names will be reserved for the account owner, so nobody else will be able to snipe their login name. 
You can change back to your original name by using another scroll.

There will be no limit to how many times a player can change their name. However, if a name is deemed to be too inappropriate by staff, you will have the name reversed, and you will be banned from changing your name for a week.
Names will support hyphens (-) and are case-sensitive, just like login names.
Friends lists will automatically update with your new name, with the icon next to it showing that you have changed your name.
Note: Unfortunately, due to the changes to how the friends and ignore list systems work, both lists will be reset, and you will have to re-add players to them.

Friends List Improvements

You may view a player's previous name (if they have one) by right-clicking on their name in your friends list.
A "Lookup" option has also been added to look up the player on the hiscores and open the website.

Summer Mystery Box Buff

A new item set has been added to the summer mystery box! 
The Raging echoes set (t3) is the new seasonal rare set which can only be obtained via the Summer box.
Each piece can be sold to the Item trader, ranging from 2.5b to 10b per item.
This set will be discontinued forever once the summer seasonal content is removed from the game, so grab it while you can!

New Donator Rare Item Tier

Back by popular request, another new rare item tier has been added! 

This time, these items will sell to the trader for a massive 35B cash.
Requiring 70k gems redeemed, these dragon trophies will really show off who has progressed PkWild's donator tiers so far.
The trophies have a unique emote which is accessed via the equipment tab options.

Revenant Cave Changes

The revenant cave has been updated to match OSRS. It is now singles+ combat throughout the cave once past the entrance, and the revenants have been spread around the cave.

OSGP Token Shop

Don't want to exchange your tournament winnings for OSRS GP? Now, you can spend them in this new shop! It currently contains 100, 250 and 1000 gem bonds, as well as the new name change scroll.
More items will be added to this shop in the future. If you have any suggestions please let us know.

New Monkey Items

Got some spare gems and want to buy something other than mystery boxes and the usual rares? Six new monkey ‘pet’ items have been added to the gems shop!
These little rascals go in your cape slot and perch on your shoulder. Who knows, maybe they might bring you good luck…

Broadcast Toggles

You may now choose which broadcasts you receive (the yellow text that appears above your chatbox). By default, all are enabled and active (shown by the green tick).
This can be accessed via the Player tab in the Settings options.

Animation Overrides Toggles

Similarly to the broadcast toggles, support has been added so you can easily change your animation overrides.
Currently, overrides exist for death, vengeance, plus now godsword special attack graphics.
New golden special attack items have been added to the Bounty hunter store. As their name suggests, when unlocked and active, these make your godsword special attacks appear golden.

AFK Throne Improvements

Currently, any player that is Ultimate rank or above may use ::afk.
Now they can choose the appearance of their throne! This is accessed by doing the ::throne command.
There are six different options to choose from. The last three are locked to higher tier ranks.

Wiki Lookup Feature

The wiki button below the minimap has been given the same functionality as OSRS, where you click on it, then click an item, object or npc to search for it.

Obviously, this won't be accurate for any custom content that we have, but should be helpful for various checks.

Bounty hunter emblem changes

When killing a target, if you already have an emblem and so does your target, if your target's emblem tier is higher than yours, your emblem will automatically upgrade to their tier.
For example, if you have a tier 1 and kill a player with a tier 8, your emblem will become a tier 8.
Previously, your emblem would become a tier below theirs.

Other updates:

- Continued development and testing with CoX.
- Started working on Tormented demons. These weren't quite ready to be released with this update.
- Galvek's hp has been reduced to 5000, and the rates of summer tokens have been slightly decreased to compensate.
- ::well teleport position updated.
- Royal seed pod teleport animation visually fixed.
- Added a 2-minute cool down for gambling before an update to stop players getting stuck mid-session.
